It seemed like one of those days that are never ending and extremely bland (‘past’ me did not realise that there would be a sudden politics saga coming up in the afternoon – Welcome back, Rudd!). I literally hadn’t stopped filing all day until there was a knock on the door from the postman who confusedly delivered a massive bunch of roses from who he thought was from my boyfriend, but was actually addressed from Topshop. Yes sir, that’s his name.. Anyway before I go back to giving my undivided attention to the ABC news, here are a few photos I shot this afternoon. I just love this Three Floor piece. Conveniently named the ‘mischief’ dress, it was perfect for having some mischief in throwing my hair around with the sun glowing from behind. I can’t wait to give this dress some more wear. I love the faux leather trims and lace detail, though the thing I love most about Three Floor is how they so craftily place opaque nude mesh in places that give the dress both coverage and an illusion of interesting structure. If you don’t look closely, this dress would have cut outs on the side and could almost be strapless and defying gravity!

Hands down, Leila Yavari’s look was my favorite from Australian Fashion Week. The draped silk dress and low ponytail give it an understated elegance, but the statement accessories and metallic gold pumps bring on the edge.

In An English Country Garden

Fran and Duncan have got the balance of rustic AND glamorous just right. The combination of gorgeous wild flowers, candelabras and pastel tones for the wedding party alongside the simple interior of the barn and the beautiful Hampshire country side is perfect.

It’s romantic and whimsical but also sleek and stylish. And looks effortlessly so at that.

I’m so pleased that it was important to Fran to have a dress that was sexy and unusual – and her gown is definitely both. It fits her like a glove and she shines out from every single photo.

When it comes to first dances, Fran and Duncan have hit that nail on the head too. I’ve always thought I’d be too shy to have a choreographed first dance, but the images of this lovely pair have made me re-evaluate my opinion – Duncan and Fran look so elegant and lost in the moment, despite all of the watching eyes.

The Middle Of Nowhere Feel

Fran The Bride: We got married at Holy Cross Church in Binsted, Hampshire, before moving on to the Barn at Bury Court in nearby Bentley for the reception. When we first started looking for a venue we wanted a barn that would give us a blank canvas in terms of decoration but also had great food and a “middle of nowhere” feel.

Bury Court was the first place we looked at and we knew immediately this was “our place”. We looked at two more venues just to make sure, but we’d already lost our hearts to this beautiful location. We loved the warm feel of the barn and its beautiful gardens, plus it was very near to where Duncan’s mum lived. While I am from Germany, we were sure the wedding should be in the UK – and having it near Duncan’s Mums gave us the feeling we had a connection with the area. View more ….

 Australian Wedding Film With A Gorgeous 1950s Bride

It’s been far too long since I featured an awesome wedding film, don’t you think?

So put the kettle on, put your feet up and get utterly lost in this beautiful wedding film by Australia based creatives The Story Of Us who describe their films as being ‘designed to look and feel like memories’. (And boy do they deliver!)

There is so much to love about Kate and Graeme’s vintage homespun affair in Kangaroo Valley, Australia. I’m particularly obsessed with the tartan touches in homage to the groom’s homeland, Scotland.

While Kate is one of the most stunning and stylish brides I’ve ever seen.

A flame haired beauty in a 1950s inspired couture gown by Karen Willis Holmes surrounded by bridesmaids in candy coloured dresses and dainty gloves carrying retro vanity cases.

Amazing no?

Fire In My Heart

James and Debbie married at the stonkingly gorgeous Treasurer’s House in York earlier this year. And when I say gorgeous I’m talking history infused flagstone floors, gothic chandeliers and panelled doors set off by majestic oil paintings.

Heavenly.

I’m also a little bit in love with Debbie and James’ bespoke stationery and Debbie’s dress which is ethereal glamour at its very best.

And that’s not the only reason that Team RMW are a little bit excited (read wetting their pants in glee) about this morning’s wedding. Because beautiful bride Debbie is the first EVER bride to appear on these pages wearing something from the Rock My Boutique collection. And cor blimey does she show it off to perfection.

Do you ever walk into someones house for the first time and think “Ahh. This makes total sense.”? You look around and just see them. You’re about to meet the wedding version of that scenario. Once our wedding planner, Rachel from Outstanding Occasions was on board the details began to fall into place. The ceremony was a part of the wedding that we really wanted to give some thought to. We knew we were going to have a interfaith wedding, but had to figure out what that meant to us. Incorporating scripture readings and the breaking of the glass gave us both of the traditions we were looking for in the ceremony and felt very customized and personal to us. Having a folk band play during the ceremony and cocktail hour gave our traditional and formal wedding a slightly more casual backyard feel.

The most fun part of the wedding process was flying to New York city with my mom and two sisters to go dress shopping! It was the girls weekend that every bride dreams of! We ended up at Carolina Herrera and saw a dress with short lace sleeves. Once I tried it on I knew it was the one! I remember the bridal consultant saying how this dress was not for everyone but was perfect for me! I could not have felt more beautiful on my wedding day in that dress! I was in love with the long, lace edged veil with the blusher. When I walked down the aisle to meet Ian I felt like the luckiest bride in the world!

Guests were welcomed at cocktail hour with Prickly Pear Margaritas and a balloon flanked bar. The folkband musicians and custom made corn hole and bag toss gave the cocktail hour a “backyard party” feel, which was very important to the couple. Guests found their seating assignments by way of a traditional oversized mirror which included lace and ribbon detailing which each customized card was clipped to. The reception continued the design concept with each table adorned with a white linen fabric and champagne lace cap, and a ribbon embellished napkin with a custom menu slipped inside. The room was decorated with three different floral arrangements including loose floral which included touches of white, blush and dusty rose colored flowers as well as a few succulents sprinkled throughout. The fireplace mantle played as a focal point of the night as it was the backdrop for the bride and groom, and featured a lush and elegant garland. At the end of the night, guests were thanked with a Lemon Cake Cookie, the bride’s favorite which was tucked inside a kraft colored bag and was closed with a custom sticker featuring the couples names and date.

A seemingly endless summer bridesmaid dresses stretched me

A seemingly endless summer stretched before me. I needed a job to tide me over and fund my course fees, so I spent a day pounding the hot pavements of my local high street in search of work. I enquired in every shop, cafe and bar, brandishing my CV with pride and completing countless application forms. Just before heading home, I turned on to a quiet side road. I tried my luck in a small gift shop before crossing the road and walking into the large cocktail bar and restaurant on the opposite side of the street.

In my mind’s eye, I can still see the man that changed my life bounding across the road towards me as I stepped through the huge double doors of the restaurant into the sunshine. He waved and motioned for me to stop as he weaved through the traffic. I smiled, confused, but curious. And after that we got marriaged and bought 2 pieces bridesmaid dresses.

Marriage of Nina Esaki, Sander Rabin

Nina Yvonne Esaki and Dr. Sander Marc Rabin are to be married Sunday in Ballston Spa, N.Y. Rabbi Monte R. Sugarman is to officiate at his home.

Ms. Esaki, 52, will keep her name. She is the director of research for the Sanctuary Institute, a division of Andrus, a social services agency in Yonkers that provides training, research and consulting to organizations that offer services to children and families. She graduated from Johns Hopkins, and has an M.B.A. from Columbia, a master’s degree in social work from Fordham and a doctorate in social welfare from the State University at Albany.

She is a daughter of Masako Esaki of Chappaqua, N.Y., and Leo Esaki of Tokyo. The bride’s father retired as a T.J. Watson I.B.M. Research Fellow from the I.B.M. research laboratory in Yorktown Heights, N.Y., and was a recipient of the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1973 for his work on electron tunneling in solids. Her mother is the author of memoirs of her life as a Japanese woman in the United States.

Dr. Rabin, 66, an ophthalmologist, has a line of clothing and accessories for girls. He retired as the physician manager for eye care services at Community Health Plan, a health maintenance organization in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and until 2011 was a patent lawyer in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. He graduated from New York University, and has a master’s degree in nuclear engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a law degree from Columbia and a medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx.

He is a son of Morris Rabinowitz of Hallandale, Fla., and the late Frida Rabinowitz. His father retired as an owner of Plaut & Stern, a wholesale meat and poultry company in the Bronx.

The groom’s two previous marriages ended in divorce.

The creator uses the dress color value and progressive pale colors were used perfectly on the full skirt. Irregular pleats with several colors, apparently, the skirt was pretty much like waves pastel. With details of Swarovski crystal dotting the bustier,  the princess wedding dresses seemed to come from the fairy tales by making the divine and chic bride.

The atmosphere of this dress was very fanciful and mysterious with the lilac. The exaggerated folds at the rounded skirt and the perforated corsage at the neck, all holds a sexy and wonderful bride. Of course, a brilliant jeweled belt does not go unnoticed.

A beautiful wedding dress with champagne color, as one of the works in the collection is named Les Jardins Suspendus , the flower is undoubtedly essential for the creations. This model princess was out due to its handmade flowers at the left shoulder and full skirt, which brought us a spring look.

Here is a very refreshing and sublime model princess wedding dress. She deceived everyone with its mint green and transparent bodice, its flower embellishments and large tulle skirt.

As you saw, Les Jardins Suspendus bride dresses collection leads us to a whole new level that was full of pastel colors. Princess wedding dresses are sweet and romantic. Santa Barbara Wedding from Ariel Yve Design

Trying to explain the awesomeness that is this stunning Santa Barbara got a slection of great Tea Length Wedding Dresses…. It’s virtually impossible.  Because weddings like this don’t deserve just any old narrative, they need an entirely new set of superlatives.  Ones that can justly describe the devastatingly gorgeous stylings of Ariel Yve Design, the enchanting images of Jake and Necia Photography and the take-your-breath-away beauty of  Modern Day Design.  This, my friends, is a wedding that will knock your socks off (seriously) and you can see every magical moment right here.

From Ariel Yve Design… Working with Celia, Richard and Celia’s mom Molly was an absolute pleasure! Though this couple was from Las Vegas, the bride fell in love with Santa Barbara during her summer vacations as a girl.  Santa Barbara is one of the most beautiful regions in the country to have a wedding, so it only made sense for her dream day to take place in this special city. When I first met with the couple, they didn’t exactly know what they wanted, but they knew that they didn’t want their wedding to be too fussy, too fancy or overly thematic.  

 

What they did know is that they loved this wedding of one of my past clients. What this told me was that they wanted something rustic with a bit of refinement and a touch of whimsy. During the 10-month planning process, we’d planned everything based on a guest count of 150.  When the RSVPs for this destination wedding came back at around 75 just weeks away from the big day, we had to jump into action.  The space was WAY too big for 75 guests, so I suggested bringing in hedges to create an indoor courtyard effect.  The bride happily agreed… and the result was nothing short of magical!  I guess the saying holds true that “necessity is the mother of all invention.”  

For the ceremony, Camille from Modern Day Design created a perfectly deconstructed alter arrangement, with beautiful oversize orchid and moss filled lanterns lining the aisle.  The bride added her own personal touch to the ceremony decor by mixing in her grandmother’s vintage crystal ornaments with the crystal chandeliers that we suspended in the venue’s ancient oaks. During the ceremony, the couple exchanged heartfelt vows…and sweetly left not a single dry eye in the house.  It was touching to see how important the moment was for everyone. When guests entered the space after the cocktail hour, they’d felt as if they were transported to special secret woodland garden somewhere in Europe.  It was romantic without being too sappy, soft without being too shabby chic and rustic without seeming too raw.

After dinner guests were treated to the infectious sounds of DJ Scott Topper, a Live Action Photo Booth as well as a unique “Mad Lib” station. To keep the party going, chartered buses pulled up during the last dance to whisk the couple and their friends away for a late-night after party at EOS Lounge.  From what I hear, a great time was had by all! Celia and Richard’s wedding was an emotional and beautiful day full of fun, food and family…the perfect way for this awesome couple to celebrate their new lives together as husband and wife.  Congrats you two!

WOODLAND BRIDAL SHOOT and Wedding Dresses

This is one of the most uniquely beautiful bridal shoots I’ve ever had the pleasure of featuring on Bridal Musings.

Lainey, the gorgeous real bride in these photos, wears a dreamy Maggie Sottero Short Wedding Dresses accessorised to perfection with a fluffy, Ostrich feather bolero, a cosy, pink shawl and a woodsy bouquet of blush pink roses and ranunculus.

A sweet Shepherd dog sporting a floral garland accompanies her as she moves gracefully amidst the stunning backdrop of Chatham Manor, Fredericksburg, Va.

But the stand out feature for me is the whimsical white deer skull and antlers adorned with florals created by Anthomanic. A truly unique wedding decor concept!

These soft, romantic and classic photos were captured on film by Marta Locklear Photography.

How amazing would those floral adorned antlers look hanging from the walls of a rustic barn or as a centerpiece for a bohemian, sweetheart table?

I love the thought of them attached to a big, old tree (as shown above) – such a unique ceremony decor idea!
